I inhaled this series. I was so hooked and then felt like I was drenched with a bucket of ice water.The first book is intriguing and just peaks your curiosity to the extreme. The first half of the second book is the same but the end half and third book leave a lot to be desired. The serious is still incomplete (I hope) because I still have questions.
Overall, the series itself is entertaining and super HOT but the plot towards the end fizzled out of control.

The reviews were either terribly low or very high for this set. I was pleasantly surprised. Some of it was predictable, others impossible to see coming! The scene in bed when he breaks broke my heart.
The heroine is a good girl, he is stupidly rich and selfish. But like all good romances, they bring out the best in each other. Billie and Lana's mother are wonderful supporting characters.
Warning - this book ends on a cliffhanger. This wasn't advertised in the description, so I assumed I was purchasing a stand alone in a banker series. It's not, so there isn't any closure to the book. I would have liked to have known this before I started reading it.
I'd give this 3.5 stars. The plot isn't anything groundbreaking, but it was an okay read. Young and naive Lana is desperate for money as her mother is sick and she wants to send her to the States for trial treatment. She offers to sell herself to her super creepy boss, who likes consensual sexual assault, in order to get the money. As she's out for dinner setting up the arrangement, she meets eyes with an enigmatic man who invites them to an exclusive party. They attend and Blake offers her double to spend 3 months at his sexual beck and call. Lana is exposed to Blake's world where a select group of uber-rich families control the world. It gets a bit ridiculous in parts as you can probably tell from the description. There's one part where he takes her to a party attended by the elite of society. There were cloaks and masks. It was brief and went absolutely nowhere so I'm assuming it was in there to either stretch out the book or show us how rich and exclusive Blake is. If so, it was still unnecessary because this was stated more or less in every second chapter. There was also the token cold family, jealous predetermined fiancee and Lana's hard knock life.
I didn't mind the plot and characters. Lana wasn't too whiny, which makes a nice change for this sort of book. Blake is predictably cold and arrogant but, of course, soft at his core for Lana, who he sets up in an apartment and showers with his wealth (drivers, clothes, fancy dinners, etc.). He's comes across as a snob, though, telling Lana not to try and understand his life and world. As someone well educated to rule the plebs, he also has a terrible understanding of the poor and the general population. I wasn't fussed on the writing. It was a bit too stilted for me to rate it higher, but the dialogue itself wasn't terrible. There were random quotes and sayings brought up throughout the book - this became a bit weird.
I'll give the next book at go, mainly because I'm hoping for a bit of closure, but this installment kept me on the hook enough to rate it a bit higher than average.
If I could I would give this series 20+ stars...it is awwwwwesome!!
This book is dark in a way that I was not expecting but so intriguing and decedent! Billionaire Banker and penniless waif meet and what do you think happens? Well yeah but NOT how you expect it all to go and trust me there are so many surprises and WOW moments and shocking scenes and moments that you didn't see coming that when it is all over you will sit back and want to read the book all over again, trust I started to and decided to put it away for a little while and revisit it in 6 months and re-read it then.
I will now read Seduce Me, the continuation of this series that will hopefully answer the questions left unanswered by the end of this series. There aren't many and they don't detract from the ending of the series by any means but there are enough to keep me coming back for more.
I will also look into all the other books by Ms Le Carre and purchasing those as well because she can definitely weave a wonderful, seductive, sexy and suspenseful tale, no question about it.
Purchase this book, you won't be sorry and no, I didn't get this book free to review it. I bought this book over a year ago and decided to read it now and I wish I hadn't waited so long to do so but glad I read it and will re-read it again...it is a Keeper!!!

Blake steps in and makes her a similar offer, only doubles her money for 3 months of her time and body. Only with 42 days left on their contract, Lana ups a disappears with a secret. This is a must have all three books. You won't be able to read just one. Great love story, does get slightly dark in book three. Lots of sex, but this is a great three part book series with a great alpha male.
